Jörðgarð Map of Week #281 - Bjarni's and Ölveig's Isle

The 281st Map of the Week is from the second Jörðgarð (TM) Trails adventure on the Fallen Empire Trail, "Draug Hunters." The map shows the island of the Æsir ranger Bjarni and his wife, the warrior Ölveig, in the Misty Spring lake area. Misty Spring is a large lake that is fed by a spring. The lake is the source of the Fogwater River. Unknown to most, there are several populated islands upon the lake. It is a hidden area, constantly covered by a magical fog.

Bjarni's and Ölveig's island is the lowest of all isles in the Misty Spring lake area. The center of the island is a depression filled with water from outside, forming a lake within the greater lake. However, like all of the water surrounding the island, all of it is shallow, and the inner lake has swampy areas. Bjarni and Ölveig built their cottage on higher ground above the southeastern shore. The cottage area never has been flooded, but in the time of heavy spring rains, about half of the remaining island can stand under water. If there are any sites of interest on the island beyond the inner lake, Bjarni and Ölveig have not yet discovered them.

The graphic above is reduced in size. You can get the full-sized map in two versions:
