Jörðgarð Map of the Week #369 - Black Fortress Gate

Map of the Week No. 369 is from the forthcoming Jörðgarð Trails adventure "A Tale of 2 Books." This week we look at the gate of the Black Fortress where the red draug (undead) Teitur lairs.

The Fortress is difficult to enter. The easiest of the difficult options probably is to go through the main and only gate. The main problem is that the gate is a bronze portcullis that weighs 1,200 pounds. It is kept closed. Two orcs in the gatehouse are able to open it, but they are more likely to attack the PCs with arrows instead. Other options are to fly, if one can, or to climb the walls. Tunneling under the wall is not an option. The wall is built direct upon bedrock,. which lies 0 to 7 feet/0 to 2 meters below the surface.

The graphic above is reduced in size. You can get the full-sized battlemap in two versions:

  1. The Fractal Mapper (TM) 8 version in FMP format (4.5 MB) from the Jörðgarð website.

  2. As a JPG flat map of 1360 x 900 Pixels (480 KB), available from the NBOS website at:

nbos.com/nox/download.php?id=881.

Both versions are released for personal and commercial use under the Open Game License Version 1.0a, which you can read on the Jörðgarð website at:
