Jörðgarð Maps Nos. 488-491 Gunnðrá Ford Battlemap

edited March 2023 in Maps and Symbols

Jörðgarð Maps Nos. 488-491 are from the forthcoming Jörðgarð Trails adventure "Trailsend." We admit at the start that this battlemap probably will be mostly uninteresting for game masters not running the "Trailsend" campaign, nut in terms of our Open Gaming policy, we offer all of or maps.

After leaving the South Fortress, the PCs reach the end of the woodland hills on the border of the Fallen Empire. Here they get a view of the Gunnðrá River Ford in the valley below. The season's first snow lies thin upon the ground. The Gunnðrá is the border line between the remnants of old Auðar giant kingdom - now Orchome West - and the evil Dreadlands. this is the point where the PCs must cross the river.

As the PCs descend into the Gunnðrá Valley, a Kareli halfelf named Tuula is following them on a parallel trail. Tuula wants to make contact with the PCs but isn't certain that the group she's following is the correct one. The PCs sense that someone is following them but have no idea who that might be. There is a temporary standoff.

The battlemap shows the following possibilities:

GunndhrafordBM1 - A clear view of the ford by daylight. The river averages 100 feet/30 meters wide.

The following night views show these variations:

GunndhrafordBM2 - Tuula crosses the ford before Tuula and makes a campfire.

GunndhrafordBM3 - The PCs cross the ford before Tuula but make no campfire. Tuula then crosses and makes a campfire.

GunndhrafordBM4 - The PCs cross the ford before Tuula and make a campfire. Tuula crosses and makes a campfire too.

The graphics above are reduced in size. You can get the full-sized maps in two versions:
