Fractal Algorithm?

I have used this software in the past and continue to do so to some extent. However, what fascinates me the most is the fractal line generation method. I have tried to use this method myself, but have been unable to create a true fractal line with a pre-specified endpoint. Is there any way I could get access to this algorithm or is it one of those 'company secrets' which, if revealed, would mean the utter demise of the company?

I'm glad you like the algorithim, but since its an algorithm designed specifically for FM to look like coastlines, it is something of a company secret.
