Vacation time's over, summer officially has another three weeks left and a month from now the first frost might be on the pumpkins. In other words, vacation is over and we're back With the 74th Map of the Week. We continue in the borderlands town of Óðinn's House in the Kingdom of Slovania. This week we take a look at Skáldar Meet Tavern.
The Skáldar Meet is a small tavern that draws a mysterious combination of doers and dreamers. The patrons are mostly adventurers who have returned safely from the draug lands, but also of those who are en route there and have tales of their own great deeds elsewhere. Never mind whether those tales are true. There even are very infrequent nights when two or three visiting rangers from the Northern Circle might pop in and take a dark table in a corner. Maarit, a 37-year-old human female merchant, owns and operates the Skáldar Meet. She makes no secret of the fact that she is a native of Ganndarkahlaamo in Karelenland. However, she does not tell the Slovánska that she left her homeland with a broken heart after her childless marriage with a half-elf there crumbled. After that disaster, she entered into the service of the light elven Prince Lemminkäinen and agreed to spy for the Kareli in Odhinn's House. The employees are Pravoslav, a 35-year-old human male commoner, who works as a waiter, and Ingrid, a 33-year-old human female commoner wife of a sergeant in the town watch, who doubles as a waitress and Maarit's cleaning lady.
