spheres of influence
I have 5 empires and I would like to make a map that shows empire one in red, empire 2 in blue, empire 3 in yellow, empire 4 green, and empire 5 in orange. I know I can just use the desired colored to change the font color of the system name, but I want to show a particular region as being part of an empire including unexplored space, I want to know how to place a sectors in a colored bubble, thanks.

You can set a sphere of influence around a system using the setting for it in the properties window (on the Position and Display tab). You cannot set a general shape around an arbitrary region though. Best you can do is apply the sphere to each system in the empire.
