I uninstalled FM9 and reinstalled to another hard drive. This did not get rid of the startup error but it did allow me to access the effects menus and fill patterns.

I think the WD nvme may be the culprit: FM9 runs fine on my laptop, which has a ryzen cpu.

Both use gigabyte mb, ryzen cpu, nvidia video card, but nothing is common between the systems, except a western digital nvme.

No. The drop downs do nothing. The Mapping Symbols menus on the left hand side of the UI work fine, but not the effects menus on the right hand side.

As far as I can tell, hovering over fill patterns in FM9 does not bring the file name up. Hovering over map symbols does.

Uninstalled, turned off anti-virus and reinstalled--still happening. I should make clear, FM9 runs after the error happens, it just is concerning that this is persistent.

I deleted the CurrentVersion in the registry along with the Mapper 8 and Mapper 9 folders. No effect. Uninstalled and reinstalled FM9: it's still giving the first error but not 2 & 3.

Ok, apparently FM8 was still installed, but not showing up in Win10 apps settings. I uninstalled it using the uninstall routine in the app folder, but FM9 is still erroring out.

Ok. I uninstalled TheKeep and then reinstalled, but the installer does not look like the picture above with the portable installation. It gives a hint to install in your cloud drive folders, but the only folders accessible are on C drive.

Webroot responded back that they were false positives and that they have updated their software accordingly.

Yeah, that's what I ended up doing. It's really odd. Hopefully Webroot responds back.

I redownloaded the files to my desktop. Scanned while zipped, no issue, scanned the setup file after unzipping and flagged for malware. I've turned in a ticket to Webroot to investigate a false positive.

Apparently Win10 uninstalls software it considers incompatible when the OS has a major update.

It's v2. Antivirus, maybe. Now that you mention it, this may have happened with Scrivener as well. I'll check into Win10 uninstalling software.

I would like to have a script to automate the process of making routes that bounce from system to system but with a max jump distance of 10 LY. But the script must not allow loops, so the topography is a tree structure.
